Monarch Butterflies in the Garden 2 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
We received this message from one of our customers and we were so encouraged by it, we thought we would share it with everyone!

Thank you so much for such healthy plants!!

My husband and I thought it would be fun to rip out some of our grass and plant native California plants and some showy milkweed plants from TOLN. We hoped that Monarch Butterflies would find the plants and lay eggs. 8 months after planting the milkweeds we had 12 caterpillars. Two made their cocoons by the plants. The others travelled on farther. On Jan 17th in the afternoon this guy came out, and the other cocoon is just starting to change to a darker color. It should open up today Jan 19. This morning Jan 19, we have two Monarch’s hanging out in our garden. It is so nice to see nature appreciate the lack of grass!

We have saved the seeds from the two plants and we are going to take a stab at growing them ourselves. Cross your fingers for us cause we have not had great luck with starting plants from seeds. When we rip out more grass, I know where we are going for more plants J

See you soon. Your friends,
Paula & Stephen
